240 Strings is hosting a Social Happy Hour and “Piano Warming” at the Mechanics’ Hall Ballroom on March 21st from 5 to 7pm.  A performance by 240 Strings faculty (the Portland Piano Trio), as well as a video viewing of 240 Strings student performances, will begin at 6pm. This event welcomes 240 Strings’ partnership with MCMA, we now host their Yamaha baby grand piano in our beautiful Ballroom.  240 Strings builds community among Portland youth by making music more accessible through subsidized music lessons, chamber music workshops, and affordable family concerts. Working closely with Portland Public Schools, 240 Strings engages students with music and enrolls children unable to afford private instrument lessons.  www.240strings.org
