Chocolats Passion is a tiny artisan maker (from Portland) in a big chocolate world! Catherine will first focus her talk on a brief history of chocolate, then show how her team creates their French-style confections, while rejecting many shortcuts available to modern confectioners. She will conclude with a wide lens on the makers at the origin of the chocolate trail, the small farmers responsible for most of the world’s cacao production.
FREE for Mechanics’ Hall members, $8 general admission. Elevator access to second floor library. Doors open at 6:45pm. Light refreshments are served after the talk at 8pm.
