Makers (in Their Studios)

Last Wednesday of the month at 7pm

January thru May & September thru November

Makers (in Their Studios) is the virtual spin-off series to our popular Makers at the Hall program. Talks, panel discussions and lectures normally take place at Mechanics’ Hall in Portland, Maine – the historic home of the Maine Charitable Mechanic Association. We have transitioned into a virtual format during these times of health concern, but we like to think of it as a shift of perspective because now we are joining the makers right in their studios for a closer look at their processes and stories.

Inspired by these original makers and mechanical artists, this curated program invites artists, artisans and tradespeople – local Maine leaders in craft and culture, to discuss their work and give audiences a behind the scenes look at their creative process.

Now in its sixth year, previous guests have included light and sculpture artist Pandora LaCasse, violin maker Jonathan Cooper Luthier, printmaker Pilar Nadal of Pickwick Press, illustrator Scott Nash, Nick and David Wallace of Wallace Pipe Organs, and many more.

Talks are FREE for members or $8 general admission. You can register for each talk through our Eventbrite listings.
