Closing Reception for Spiritus Ex Machina: New Works by Gregg Harper. This series of artworks focuses on the machinations of popular spiritualism at the site of Portland’s 203 year-old mechanics organization. Each work is combinatorial and may include painting, drawing and photography with found objects, ephemera, textiles and some thread work. The exhibition will feature both The Philosopher’s Game and The Elder’s Puzzle, each of which invite viewer participation. On view October 1 through Nov 2, 2018.

The artist will be present during the month of October for special gallery hours Fridays, 4-7pm and Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4pm (except Saturday, 10/27 will be 2-5pm). Gallery admission is free and most of the artworks will be available for sale. Other times to see the show are during Mechanics’ Hall library hours.

11/2 Closing reception is FREE and open to the public. 5:00-8:00PM.  Elevator access to second floor gallery.
