EVENT DETAILS

Resident musicians from Portland’s 240 Strings are joined by resident musicians from New Haven’s Music Haven and acclaimed flutist Nicole Rabata for an intimate evening of chamber music. From the soaring sounds of Bach’s 5th Brandenburg Concerto to the contemporary Portraits of award-winning composer Elisenda Fabregas, the program will also include Dvorák’s masterpiece Piano Quintet. Event continues 240 Strings’ partnership with Mechanics’ Hall, we now host their Yamaha baby grand piano in our beautiful Ballroom.  240 Strings builds community among Portland youth by making music more accessible through subsidized music lessons, chamber music workshops, and affordable family concerts. Working closely with Portland Public Schools, 240 Strings engages students with music and enrolls children unable to afford private instrument lessons.  www.240strings.org
