DANCE MOVIE NIGHT is a series of events meant to bring people together around watching dance on film in a more casual, social setting. Laura K. Nicoll and Rufus MK Nicoll collaboratively “VJ” the experience, moving movies around to different screens, noticing what pairings are pleasing and taking suggestions from the audience about what to watch / focus on next.

In 2017 the pilot DANCE MOVIE NIGHT at 44 North in Stonington, ME came together in a day with a donated projector, a 3-hour long YouTube Playlist made up of music videos, golden-age era musical numbers, and avant-garde performance documentation. The second iteration in February 2020 used three laptops, a desktop computer, and two larger external monitors and took place in the Chase Memorial Public Library in Deer Isle, Maine.
