Rick Bass is a founding member of the Yaak Valley Forest Council (info@yaakvalley.org) as well as The Montana Project. Working with ProtectAncientForests.org, he is promoting a “Curtain of Green”—a series of loosely-connected Climate Reserves in old and mature forests along (but not limited to!) the northern tier of the United States. A former petroleum geologist, he’s the author of more than 30 books of fiction and nonfiction. He teaches in the low-residency MFA Creative Writing program at the University of Southern Maine.
