Event Details

Join author Matt Cost discussing his novel, “Mainely Power.” Mechanics’ Hall is a proud member of Read ME, a statewide summer reading program offered by the Maine Humanities Council and Maine State Library that gets Maine’s adults all reading the same books. Each year a well-known Maine author recommends two titles by lesser-known Maine authors with libraries and their patrons participating in a summer of reading and discussing the featured books. 2021’s featured books—recommended by Gerry Boyle—are Mill Town by Kerri Arsenault and Mainely Power by Matt Cost.

The Maine Humanities Council is a statewide non-profit that uses books, poetry, and big ideas to bring people together to discuss issues of importance. MHC programs and grants encourage critical thinking and conversations across social, economic, and cultural boundaries

This virtual event is hosted by the Maine Humanities Council and will be on Zoom here. This event is free and open to the public.

Membership with Mechanics’ Hall is free for students and starts at just $50 a year for individual memberships, which includes use of the library, free and discounted access to programs, and much more. Consider becoming a member today and helping to support programs like this.
