Curated by the Mechanics’ Hall Library Committee, this group reads a mixture of fiction and non-fiction stories that “make knowledge, ideas, and arts accessible.” The salon-style discussions occur on the first Tuesday of every month (November – June) in our charming second-floor library.
The February book selection is The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon – Inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning diaries of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife who finds herself at the center of a shocking murder that unhinges her small community of Hallowell, Maine.
Learn more about what we’re reading and register here.
The group is free for Mechanics’ Hall Members.
